[Intro for Guest]

Stacey: Laura, how are you?

Laura: I am good. Thanks for having me today.

Stacey: No, thank you, and I am beyond excited for our guests to hear about you, your journey, and your business. So, how did you get started? I mean, did you just wake up one day and go, “I want to be a career coach.”

Laura: No, no. It’s kind of the evolution of my career. I have worked in a lot of different industries. I worked as a medical biller. I worked in high end window and door sales, higher education, and even as a hostess and server. So, the one common thread to all of my career has been moving up into management and director level positions.

I had my oldest son in 2014. I was running a career center out here where I did similar to what I do now, which is overseeing career coaches, case managers, and helping people with interviews and LinkedIn resumes. But as their manager, and having a newborn son who wasn’t doing that well at daycare, I found myself not giving 100% at either one, and just feeling really unfulfilled for it. So I decided to take a step back, which was really hard for me because I am very driven, and I like working with people. But I took a step back and then in my new mom off time, my friends and former colleagues kept asking me to help with their resumes, or help them prep for interviews.
