Hi, this is Rhonda Sher, the LinkedIn Diva, and if you want to learn the six and seven figure science to success, significantly increase your income, and learn how to successfully build professional relationships, then you should be listening to the Sell Without Selling Podcast with my good friend, Stacey O’Byrne.

[Intro]

Stacey: Rhonda. Welcome to the show.

Rhonda: Thanks, Stacey. I am so excited to be here with you.

Stacey: I am beyond excited to have you on the show. You know, I have always referred to you as the LinkedIn Diva. You said a coined phrase when I met you a while ago. It was, become LinkedIn or be linked out.

Rhonda: If you’re not LinkedIn you might be left out.

Stacey: There you go. You know, I remember meeting you, wow, 15 years ago. 15 years ago you were at an event, you were speaking on networking. So I am really curious, because you have had a plethora of a journey as an entrepreneur. Right? When you entered adulthood, you know when you really figured, okay it’s time to start adulting…and look, I haven’t figured that out yet, right? But when you entered adulthood, did you just know that you were going to be an entrepreneur, a business owner, or did you have a corporate background first?

Rhonda: You know, actually Stacey, I always wanted to be an attorney. To date myself, I grew up with Carrie Mason, and that was the inspiration, because I thought, “Oh I could be the voice for other people.” And I was great at arguing. My dad would attest to that. So I saw him and I thought, “I’m going to be an attorney.” I went to college and decided that law school wasn’t going to be an option for one reason only. My parents told me after my 4 year education, if I wanted to go to law school I had to live at home. And to me, that was a fate worse than death. They were both smokers. Seriously. I had lived away for 4 years, right? So paralegal school had opened up at that time, and I went to New York and I became a paralegal. And when I graduated paralegal school, I got a job and what happened was when I got married in 1980, my husband said, “You know, you can still go to law school.” And I saw how miserable the attorneys were.
