You know, fear is our most primitive response. As a matter of fact, anger and fear are our two most ancient, most caveman, most primitive responses that are programed into our bodies as survival mechanisms. As a matter of fact, they trigger our fight, flight, or freeze. When you perceive a threat, whether it’s real or imagined, your fear system kicks in and several things happen.
