Hey, this is Derlene Hirtz with You Empowered Services and TEAM Referral Network in St. Louis, and if you want to learn the six and seven figure science to success, significantly increase your revenue, and learn how to successfully build professional relationships, you should be listening to the Sell Without Selling Podcast with my good friend, Stacey O’Byrne.

[Intro]

Stacey: Derlene, welcome to the show.

Derlene: Thank you. It’s great to be here.

Stacey: It’s great having you. How are you doing today?

Derlene: I am doing freaking phenomenal today.

Stacey: Freaking phenomenal. I love that. You know, you and I have known each other for a pretty long time, and I know that I shared a run-down with you of how the podcast was going to go. I want to go off the agenda a little bit real quick. I am really curious. You had a pretty cush job, right? Whatever made you jump off the cliff and become an entrepreneur, and redefine yourself at 50?

Derlene: Well, I think that a lot of it has to do with who I coach, the need to please. I realized that I was living a life that I perceived other people wanted of me, as opposed to giving myself permission to dream about what I would want, or what could be, because that was so far from anything that anybody in my family had experienced. You know, we were kind of in a box. Right? And having permission to dream that, it just became like a fantasy. Oh could this happen? And I was in a position where I got to pursue that dream.
