Sell Without Selling Podcast

Episode #151

Are Excuses Holding You Back?

On this solo episode, Stacey is asking us to hold up a mirror, get real about the excuses we make, and what the real effects of them are in life and business.

Key Takeaways:

  • Do you have the life and success you want?
  • Discover what’s fueling your fear-based excuses.
  • Your excuses are rarely tied to what’s happening in your life immediately.

“When we expose things we didn’t know that we didn’t know, people can go down a path of really beating themselves up. I really want to help people avoid that.” -Stacey O’Byrne

(First ~2 mins)

Hey. Welcome back to another episode of Sell Without Selling. I am your host, Stacey O’Byrne and I believe that learning the art and the science of how to sell without selling is the only way to achieve high six and seven figure success.

I am really excited to get into today’s episode. Really quick, if you are a business owner, entrepreneur, or sales professional, and you haven’t hit the level of success that you wanted or needed, or if you’re stuck and needing a pivot in your business, in your success – or maybe you just want more, and you understand the importance of having a coach to help identify the blind spots, increase accountability, and help with success strategies to take you, your business, your income, and your success to the next level – if this sounds like something for you, then head over to There’s a quick application there that will lead to a personal phone call with me to see if we’re a great fit for each other. Alright let’s do this.

So this is a painful question that we as business owners, entrepreneurs, sales professionals, self-employed – it doesn’t matter how you label yourself – this question kind of hits us right in between the eyes. When I ask are excuses holding you back, are they holding you back from having the life you need, the life you want, the life you dream of and desire? Are excuses holding you back from having the level of success that you’re confident you should have, could have? When you look at other people and the successes they have, and you reflect upon yourself and wonder why you don’t, have you ever gotten really real with yourself?

Now look, all I want to do during this podcast is just hold a mirror up. This isn’t about making judgements. This isn’t about beating ourselves up. This isn’t about anything other than getting real, exposing blind spots, allowing us to see what we don’t see, identify what we didn’t know that we didn’t know, so that we can expose them and shift them.
