What type of sales person are you? Have you ever really thought about that? Have you ever really thought about how you showed up in the sales equation? Have you ever showed up hardcore? Have you ever showed up passive? Have you ever been a magnet, or have you ever been a repellent? Have you ever really put any thought into how you showed up as a sales person?
You know, I think first and foremost, it’s really important for us to really look at the type of personality you are. So let’s start with how your personality allows you to show up.
So I am a DISC certified coach, and I just want to bastardize it and drop it down to a street level first and foremost. DISC is Driver/Dominant, an Influencer, Steadiness and Conscientious.
So let’s talk about the D personality first. The D, the dominant, the driver. These are CEO’s. These are people that mean business about business. It’s all about the bottom line. Time is money and money is time. They’ve got very, very firm handshakes. They’re very professional. They’re always appropriately early. If you are almost 15 minutes early for a D, you’re almost late. D’s dress for success. They have the suits, the ties, the power wardrobe. D’s are very driven. They’re very dominant. So are you a D?
Let’s talk about I’s. I’s are influencers. These are people that are all about the name brand. These are people that are all about the trophies and the recognition. These are people who are all about having fun, making money, and looking good doing it. Are you an I?
