To have a successful sales and success mindset, it’s important to avoid desperation.

If you HAVE to, NEED to close business, make the sale, or earn money, you’re projecting an energy that is going to get in your way. You’re showing up from a perspective of creating an environment that’s all about revenue generation and less about solving your ideal client’s problem, meeting their need, want, or desire.

The reality is this: people want to buy. They don’t want to be sold to. Being sold to makes them feel uncomfortable.

Avoid desperation. When you avoid desperation, you never have to sell. This allows you to step into selling without ever selling.

Here’s the secret… the way to do this is to have a strong, successful mindset.

There are 5 distinct elements necessary to have a strong, successful mindset:

Have a growth mindset:

I’m sure you’ve heard me say before, “What we feed grows and what you starve dies.” So, what do I mean by a growth mindset? Have you ever met someone whose first answer to any question is always, “NO”? That person has a closed mind. A person with an open mind will ask questions before making a decision. They will keep opportunities open.

A person with a growth mindset is someone who is constantly seeking more and more. Our unconscious mind is programmed to constantly seek more information.

What are you reading? What are you listening to? What are you watching? What trainings do you go to? Who do you hang around? All of this contributes to your growth opportunities and growth mindset.

Trust yourself:

This is one of the most important elements. Trust yourself. Trust yourself so that others can trust you. Believe in yourself so you can take risks. Trust yourself so that you can step into the best version of yourself.

When you trust yourself, you know the decisions you are making are in the best interest of yourself and your prospective clients. So many people show up second-guessing themselves. Then the person they are communicating with second guesses them too. If you can’t trust yourself, how can anyone else trust you?

You need to trust yourself so that you can trust what it is that you’re representing.

Love yourself through learning:

There is no failure, only feedback. Allow yourself to learn from that feedback. If you avoid the learnings and push them away, you miss the opportunity to evolve. Everything that presents itself in our lives is an opportunity to grow and learn.

If we push away those learnings, we will end up repeating the mistakes. Have you ever been in a situation where it’s been dejavu? Different names, different situations, same outcome, and result. That’s because those things in the past when you avoided the learning just come back bigger and louder. Those learnings are what you need to take your life, your success, and your bank account to the next level. Love yourself through learning!

Have an attitude of gratitude and appreciation:

Every single hour of every single day is a blessing. The biggest blessing of all is the present. So many of us are stuck in the past. So many of us are stuck in the future. We’re consumed by what’s going to happen. That creates an environment where we forget that we create what happens.

Don’t forget that you are writing your own story. What happens in the future is determined by what you do now. You have everything to be grateful for and appreciative of. Own it and own it hard!

Keep yourself healthy in all aspects of life:

We have major areas of our lives… relationships, health, wealth, spirituality, career, and environment. In every area of your life, you should create an environment of health. Make sure that internally it’s healthy and externally it’s healthy.

Healthy is a relative term. You define that. Strive for it in every area of your life. Show up to be the most excellent you can be. Seek work-life harmony. The decisions you make today will affect you tomorrow.
