It’s time we really take control over our business, our income, and our lives. Look, right now amid this global pandemic, many have been faced with struggles they never could have foreseen. The reality is if you step into empowerment and own your ability, the knowledge that you control your life, destiny, and results. If that is something you can stand in right now, you can make shift happen sooner rather than later.

In situations that are unpredictable, unprecedented, and uncertain, our fight or flight reflex kicks in. That is our primary, most primitive response system. You either dig in, put up your dukes, and give it everything you’ve got to thrive and survive… or you put your head in the sand or run from whatever it is that is scaring you.
I want you to use this as an opportunity to get better, be better, and do better. It’s there. As we’ve seen, this entire new normal hasn’t really been a temporary thing. We’re nearly two years into it. Use it as a catalyst to step out of your grey area or comfort zone and into a new normal.
The initial social distancing and stay-at-home requests allowed me to take a step back and really look at my business. I looked at what I’d done in the past and at my plans for the future. Then I looked at what I could shift or pivot.
The Perfect Time
Right now is the perfect time for you to look at your past behaviors, they’re going to predict what you’re going to do next. History repeats itself in so many areas. Yes, these times are unprecedented, but every decade I can remember we’ve had something disrupt the status quo and affected our lives, our economy, and our nation. We can go back in history and see that time and time again, we do recover from this.
Those who are willing to embrace paradigm shifts, those who can adapt and adjust, they get better and they evolve. Those who retreat inward, shut down, and wait, they get left behind.
Let me share something with you. There is a reason why statistics show that 97% of business owners, entrepreneurs, and sales professionals don’t make it. 97% shut their businesses down. How can that happen? How can we as business owners not have the fortitude, wherewithal, mental-emotional resources, and financial resources to tape into?
The Gray Area
Let’s talk about that grey area. This is what holds so many back. It’s what prevents them from having everything that they’ve dreamt of, desired, and deserve. The grey area is what keeps so many people stuck. It’s their comfort zone. It’s the area you stay in because it’s what you know. It’s your normal.
Anything outside of that area is uncomfortable, and because it’s uncomfortable, you don’t go there.
Look at lottery winners. Do you know how many statistics show lottery winners end up right back where they were before they won the lotto? It’s almost staggering! Why? Because they knew their comfort zone and their normal. Anything outside of that is an unknown. We either venture out into the unknown, or we return to what we know.
To be able to sell without selling, to be successful, to do things most don’t, you have to get comfortable being uncomfortable. That is what success is!
Uncertain Times?
One thing that successful entrepreneurs, sales professionals, and business owners know is that every second of every minute of every hour of every day is uncertain until we decide what the certainty is. There are no uncertain times. The one thing I am certain of is that I determine how I respond or react to everything around me.
