Let’s talk about mindset.

I know you hear it all the time, and I promise you – mindset is the #1 key to being successful in selling. It’s the key to being successful, period. It’s the foundation of being able to sell without selling.

In order to have sales success, you must be able to avoid desperation. You must be able to show up in any environment, any situation, and never have to sell. You must be able to show up in service. You must be able to show up to educate, deliver information, communicate, and avoid that negative energy of desperation.

If you need to make that sale, if you need to close the order, if you’ve got bills coming, if you’ve got to make your rent or your mortgage or your car payment or your credit card, and all of that is stressing you out – you’re going to project an energy and a mindset that’s going to push your prospective ideal client away.

This is why having a strong success mindset is so important.

Let’s talk about the three key elements involved in having a success-oriented mindset:

Be Growth-Forward Motivated

What do I mean by that? I have a belief that what we feed grows and what we starve dies. In other words, you must be investing in yourself. You must be reading from people who have achieved the levels of success that you’ve always wanted, dreamed of, desired, and know you deserve.

You must be putting yourself in situations with experts to help you develop skillsets and mindsets that helps you reprogram yourself. If you’re not investing in yourself, how can you expect someone else to invest in your product, service, or solution? How can you expect them to invest in you!

The reality is people don’t ever make a buying decision based on the product, service, or solution that you’re providing. People invest in the person that they align with, trust, connect with, and have rapport with. The only way they can trust you is if you trust yourself.

Trust Yourself

You must trust yourself enough to believe in yourself. Allow yourself to take necessary risks. Step into empowering yourself. Allow yourself to believe in yourself.

If you can’t trust yourself, who can? If you can’t believe in yourself, who can? If you can’t take risks on yourself, how can anyone else take the risk of aligning with you or buying from you?

In order for other people to trust you, believe in you, or allow themselves to move forward with you, you have to be able to do all of that too. If you’re not willing to invest in yourself, others can’t. If you’re not willing to take risks others won’t either.

Love Yourself Through Learning

Failure is okay. It’s just a way of you teaching yourself what did and didn’t work. Most people beat themselves up continually for not succeeding or for failing. Love yourself through failing. The only failure that exists is when you stop trying.

Learn the lessons that the situation provides for you. In every situation, identify what went wrong and what went right. By identifying what went wrong, you are able to learn from it. Then, you can fix it and avoid making the same mistake in the future. That’s how you love yourself through learning!
